4/15/2024 Start of a new year

The 2024 Mankigahara District Social Welfare Council General Meeting was held at the Fureai Hall on April 13th.
The general meeting was established with the attendance of 23 out of 28 members and 2 proxy statements. All proposals were approved, and 2024 has officially begun.
During the Q&A session, in addition to several questions, there were also comments from people who valued intergenerational exchange, and I felt that we should take this seriously and think about it.
There will be no changes to the officers as their terms of office are two years from 2023 to 2024.
Thank you for your continued support this year.

4/9/2024 Continuation is power

[Sunday Salon] was held on April 7th.
Participants had fun chatting with each other, saying, “It's been a long time! How many years has it been since we last met?''
We sang nursery rhymes to the accompaniment of Mr. Matsuura's electronic piano, and in between the songs we couldn't stop talking about this and that, making it exactly the type of Sunday salon we are aiming for.
For the past few months, there has been only one participant, and we had a lot of worries, but this time we were so happy that the living room was filled with people.
Additionally, some people told me that they were glad to have a place to gather, which made me realize how important it is to continue.

The next one is June 2nd.

4/1/2024 More healed by dumplings than flowers

On March 30th, shortly after the flowering declaration, we held a cherry blossom viewing walk.
The previous day, Friday, was a stormy day with strong rain and wind, but on that day it was sunny and the temperature was rising.
Although it was a perfect day for a walk, it was not long after the cherry blossoms were declared in bloom, so the approximately 40 participants arrived at their destination, Shinmeidai wondering whether or not the cherry blossoms were in bloom.
Disappointing! Cherry blossom trees were blooming here and there, but most of the trees remained in bud.
Still, we were given handmade “mitarashi dango'' and the taste of eating them while sitting on the grass and chatting was special.
As the saying goes, ``Dumplings are better than flowers,'' our hearts became brighter and it was a fun walk for a large group.
